Alison joined the practice in 2016 as a part time decontamination assistant, but has since trained to become a qualified dental nurse. In her other life she runs a guest house with her husband! In what spare time she has left she enjoys walking her dog on the fells. Her other passion of baking gives those who walk with her the energy to reach the summit!

Mandy joined the practice as a dental nurse in 2001. Outside of work she enjoys mountain biking with her husband and loves spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Claire Murphy

Claire joined the practice as a dental nurse in 1987 and has been the Practice Manager since the end of 2001. Having grown up in the Lakes, she now lives on the Furness coast and away from work she enjoys spending time with her family, seeing live music and theatre, reading (mainly thrillers), all sorts of needlecrafts and is an avid fan of Strictly Come Dancing.

Gillian Scanlan

Principal Dentist/Registered Manager

Gill qualified from Edinburgh Dental School in 1994 and held several associate positions

across the country before relocating to Kendal in 2006. She joined Windermere Dental Practice as an associate in the same year and became practice owner in February 2021. Gill enjoys treating everyone, including children and nervous patients, and carries out all aspects of general dentistry including teeth whitening and composite bonding. Her aim is to make her patients feel calm and confident whilst providing the highest quality dentistry.

When not at work, Gill enjoys spending her time with her husband, cats and teenagers (in that order!). She likes to read, keep fit and drink wine (not necessarily in that order!).

Fiona Scrogham

Dental Therapist

Fiona qualified in 2006 as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist from Liverpool University.

She enjoys her role working alongside the dental team at Windermere Dental Practice to encourage patients to improve and maintain good standards of oral health.

Outside of work she enjoys walking and spends most of the Summer months watching her son play cricket.

Maisie Crisp

Apprentice Dental Nurse

Maisie joined the practice as an Apprentice Dental Nurse in 2023. She's enjoying meeting all the patients at the practice, learning all there is to know about dental nursing and helping patients where she can.

In her spare time, she enjoys adventuring up into the fells with her dog and is halfway to completing all 214 wainwrights!
