Root Canal Treatment
Root Fillings save teeth that would otherwise require extraction.
A Root Filling is necessary when the pulp, the soft tissue inside the root canal, becomes irreversibly damaged when inflamed or infected. The inflammation or infection can derive from a variety of causes: deep decay, repeated dental procedures on the tooth because of recurrent decay, a crack or a chip in the tooth. A trauma to a tooth may cause pulp damage even if the tooth has no visible chips or cracks. If pulp inflammation or infection is left untreated, it can cause pain and may lead to an abscess.
