Our aim is to prevent the need for dental treatment by
increasing awareness of good dental health and helping to explain the techniques to
improve oral hygiene and prevent periodontal disease. Regular and thorough examinations
will look for signs of dental caries and periodontal disease. Radiographs (x-rays) are
used as an important diagnostic tool, they provide valuable information that is not
always clinically visible during a dental examination. Radiographs can safely and
accurately detect hidden dental decay and abnormalities that may otherwise go
undetected.

Of increasing concern is oral cancer. As part of the
examination we look for abnormalities in the soft and hard tissues of the mouth and face.
These abnormalities may indicate signs of oral diseases including oral cancer. Early
diagnosis and subsequent treatment can help to achieve a positive outcome.
