Surgery Hours
Monday to Friday
AM: 8:30am – 1:00pm
PM: 2:00pm – 4:30pm
We aim to provide high quality modern dentistry in comfortable
surroundings.
Dental decay and tooth loss is no longer inevitable. With the correct treatment,
advice and home care natural teeth can be kept in a healthy mouth for a lifetime.
We base all our treatment plans on the principle that teeth are saved where at all
possible.
We recommend six monthly check ups with your dentist. Registered patients are
sent a reminder card when this is due.
New Patients
Patients who would like to register with the practice are very welcome to book an
initial consultation when we will discuss your individual needs – please contact
reception.
From time to time we close our lists to prevent unreasonable delays between
appointments for our registered patients.
Treatments Provided
A full range of treatments from fillings (metal or tooth-coloured) to bridges and
dentures can be provided. Your treatment is tailored to your individual
circumstances and the dentist will be happy to discuss options for treatment with
you.
We always provide printed lists of treatment that are required or we recommend, but
many other treatments are available for aesthetic / cosmetic reasons.
Please feel free to discuss these at your examination appointment.

Fees
A printed estimate is provided after your check up, which details the items of
treatment you need and the cost for each item. There is a L36.60 examination fee
(plus possible x-rays) which is the only charge you are committed to when booking a
routine check up appointment.
We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as cheques or cash if you
prefer.
Accounts
We do not offer accounts unless by prior arrangement with the dentist. Payment
of fees is expected on the day of consultation prior to booking further appointments.
Missed / Late-cancelled Appointments
Appointments that are missed are chargeable. Appointments cancelled with less
than 24 hours notice may be charged for any time we do not manage to give to another
patient.
This is to keep our prices as low as possible, without passing the burden of the cost
of lost surgery time to all our patients.
Casual Patients
Where possible, appointments are provided to unregistered (casual) patients and
visitors to the area.
Emergency appointments for unregistered patients are provided on a private basis only,
and incur a minimum L61 charge to be paid when leaving the surgery after the
consultation.
Please telephone the surgery after 10:30am – priority is given to our registered
patients and appointments will only be arranged after this time.

Sterilisation
We use a combination of methods which are designed to give protection against
cross-infection for our patients and staff.
Dental instruments are sterilised by autoclave (heat with high pressure steam) as in
hospitals. Where possible we use disposable items which are discarded after each
use.
Our staff or your dentist are happy to provide more information about the measures and
precautions we take.
Denplan Care
Denplan is our recommended method of caring for your oral health. It provides
your routine check ups and treatment, as well as insurance in case of accidental damage,
insurance to cover call out charges and a helpline if you experience problems whilst away
from home. Denplan has many advantages, in return for a set monthly fee (usually by
direct debit).
Denplan membership can be started from when your first course of treatment is complete
- we take responsibility for maintaining your mouth so we need to know your mouth is
healthy when you start.
Your dentist will be happy to provide further information.

Private Treatment
Treatment can be provided on a fee-per-item private basis. The practice operates
a fixed pricing policy – a guide to some of our prices is available from the
reception desk.
Estimates for courses of treatment are always provided after your check up has been
completed. Although these are just an estimate we endeavour to provide updated
copies if the treatment plan changes significantly.
NHS Treatment
From April 1st 2006 the practice is no longer able to offer NHS dental care to any
patients.
Children’s Treatment
Whilst a parent or guardian is a registered Denplan or private patient of the practice
their children can receive free examinations at the practice up to the age of 18. If any
treatment is required this will be charged for - a fees guide is available upon
request.
Again Denplan for Children is our recommended method for caring for your children.
Teenagers in particular can suddenly need a lot treatment, further details of which are
available from reception.
Emergency Appointments
Registered patients are entitled to emergency treatment. During office hours
this can be arranged by telephoning the normal surgery number. Out of hours care is
provided via an answering machine message which will provide details of the dentist and
arrangements at that time.
