Windermere Dental Surgery is proud to be be a member of the Denplan Excel Accredited Scheme. It is a mark of quality and benefits the patient.

The Patients Association has worked closely with dentists and Denplan to support the development of the Denplan Excel Accreditation Programme, and believes that it offers significant benefits for both dentists and patients. This is the only programme officially approved by the Patients' Association.

Every 18 months an independent assessor will visit the practice to ensure that all the standards of the Denplan Excel Accreditation Programme are being met. The assessors will also check that the practice is complying with statutory regulations and recommendations for best practice in dentistry. These assessment visits are unique to the Denplan Excel Accreditation Programme and provide assurance that your dentist is giving you the very best care and service available and that they are committed to an ongoing programme of improvement.

Part of being a member of the Denplan Excel Accredited Scheme means all patient’s undergoing an examination will have an Oral Health Score check. Using a consistent set of criteria, (checking for pain, bite, appearance, oral cancer, tooth wear, gum health and dental decay)your dentist will produce an overall 'score', which indicates how healthy your mouth is. We will discuss with you the outcome of these findings.

Every 18 months confidential patient satisfaction surveys are conducted. You will at some point in time be invited to take part and will be sent a questionnaire asking you to mark how satisfied you are with various aspects of your dental care and the quality of the service you receive. As a practice we value the points made and try to act upon them and these are discussed within our practice meetings and with representatives from Denplan.
